VEHICLE EXTRICATION - 8 HOURS
This course pertains to NFPA 1001 Standard on Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, NFPA
1006 Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications.
This course is designed to provide responders with the information to stay safe while working around today’s high tech vehicles. Auto manufacturers are making vehicles safer for the occupants, however little is done to educate or protect the first responders from the new safety devices they encounter during extrication rescues.

• Electrical shutdown
• Patient protection and removal • Identification and control
• Types of collisions
• Scene safety
Classes may have a maximum of 30 students. Class contacts and locations for the courses will be determined by LETS.
Vehicle Extrication course instructors meet or exceed all relevant standards with resumes available on request.

Vehicles used in Vehicle Extrication class shall be provided by the hosting department.
