Bulk propane vehicles are an integral element in the propane transportation and the distribution system. The Bobtail is considered the "workhorse"of the propane marketing business. The Propane Emergency Bobtail course concentrates on the design and operation of the bobtail delevery systems. This course will also describe the construction features of the MC-331 tank used to transport Propane. Product removal and transfer operations involve moving the contents from the damaged or overloaded cargo tank into an undamaged and compatible receiving tank is critical to responder safety. While product removal and recovery issues vary from incident to incident, an understanding of the transferring of material is gained during this course. RECEIVING TANK IS CRITICAL TO THE SAFETY OF ALL RESPONDERS. Propane emergencies is designed for all firefighters who may be called upon when propane is inadvertently released from its container. The course starts with a four hour classroom presentation on the physical properties of liquified petroleum and more specifically, propane.
